Should health care and/or health insurance be government-run? http://ping.fm/oImr0 Your opinion is important.
Should health care and/or health insurance be government-run?
I have been having a fascinating discussion about this with a friend on Facebook during the last week. There is so much information available for and against this all-important issue. Please add you thoughts. However, please keep to the issue. In other words, do not attack someone personally for their position or thoughts. Stick to the issue, voice your opinion and state the facts as you see them. Let's have a great discussion. Thanks.

Turning The Corner?
It seems to me that the first thing that changes when coming out of a recession is attitude. It's sometimes difficult to recognize because the people that you hang around with may be positive most of the time. However, they are also realistic and may be in businesses or jobs that have been hit really hard. So even they may have an even cheerier prospective.
In the course of a month, I meet a lot of people. Some I know, some I'm getting to know. The one thing that they all seem to have in common is that they feel that we are turning the corner. The economy either is or is about to begin it's way back. I agree.
The Anderson School of Economics at U.C.L.A. said this morning that we would begin a turn-around in September of this year. I'm not quite sure how they know that it will begin in that particular month and I have not seen their research but that's what they think and that it will begin right here in Los Angeles.
It would seem to me that being that there are brilliant economists all over the world that have a differing opinion on so many of the same subjects, that nobody really 'knows'. Apart from the fact that between now and September, many things could change.
One thing is for sure. You and I can choose not to take part in the recession atall. Why not get up in the morning with the attitude that nothing will stop me from doing what I need to do today. Then do the same thing tomorrow. You will likely not succeed in getting everything done, every day but nobody can stop you from doing your best! Nobody! See you tomorrow.

The Wealth Creator Financial Educational Forum for Women
Each month in 2009, on the 2nd Tuesday at 6 p.m., we have held and will continue to hold our Womens Forum. A speaker is specifically selected to educate our clients and guests about a variety of financially oriented subjects. Our Forums are currently free. Excellent!
This month I invited the five speakers from January through May to return so that attendees could discuss and ask questions specific to their specialization with the over all emphasis being about the current economic challenges and how our attendees are pushing through.
The feedback received was that the Forum was a huge success. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed airing their laundry, as it were, while being very optomistic about the opportunities that are currently available in the marketplace as a result of the economic challenges.
One of our attendees pulled in a six-figure income in 2008 selling green food and household products. Another, who was is the real estate business, put herself through culinary school, created a personal food-service company and is now about to launch her newly created vegan cookie (which she said is delicious). Yet another attendee is doing incredibly well selling foreclosed properties in high cash-flow regions mostly outside of California. An average house costs around $50,000. There were several others doing really well! In addition, there were some ideas that have not yet been implemented by anyone that could do very well. All of these folks had one thing in common. They were all willing to take a risk. Some small, some large but nevertheless not without risk. In the current environment, if you are willing to take a 'calculated' risk, you can come out on top. Then just imagine what you could be capable of once the economy improves. Remember, while the current economic challenges are world-wide and clearly you have no control over what happens from a macro stand-point, you do have control, or at least influence, on a micro level. As one of last night's attendees said, 'this type of economy makes you have to be creative'. I love it! It certainly does.
